I am a Georgia native residing from the Eastside of Atlanta, a full time mother to a beautiful 12 year old, and a Physics PhD student at Georgia State University. I am also a former NASA intern, a member of African-American Women in Physics, and a United States Delegate for Women in Physics.
I graduated with my Bachelors and Masters Degree in Mathematics and have been teaching college math for 6 years. During my time at GSU, I am trying to predict solar flares using big data techniques, computer programming, and mathematical statistics in a new interdisciplinary field called Astro-informatics.
When I'm not doing physics, I enjoy cooking, watching science fiction, going to conventions, and spending time with my daughter.
